Praying your foot will heal quickly🙏 Glad this enforced slowing down has helped you appreciate your photography journey.

Thank you Kim, another week to go but I am really apprecaiting the slowing down and being able to immerse myself in awareness

Hi Paul, a fine article. I whole heartedly agree with you when you say "Because at times it is important to reflect and remember how much you know and what you take for granted.". This is so true. Being an oldie myself and with the passion from, funnily enough, 14 years old when I nicked my sisters Kodak Instamatic on a trip to Mallorca and headed off on my own to Palma Cathedral where, entranced by the gold encrusted alter and architecture, I fired off the remainder of the film . However, on our return, and after trip to the chemist to get the film developed, I was severely reprimanded when she discovered that I had wasted the film taking pictures "in a church" and there were no people in the photographs or any of the family group! Those were the days! Cheers, Ray. (Polaroid Workshop Oct/23 & Bexhill Workshop Jan/24)

Hi Ray

It’s lovely to hear from you. How are you?

I remember conversations with my dad about multiple exposures as I’d removed his film to put mine in and then tried to remember what frame number he was on! I wouldn’t describe you as an oldie!

Hello Paul. Sorry for late reply but all well here thanks, and good to see that you have more than settled in to your new life in Cornwall. I am bouncing between London and The Lakes, where we are lucky enough to have a lodge overlooking the beautiful Ullswater. A relatively recent acquisition in 2022 after retirement from ‘the rat race’! Still following your wonderful  images and mindful musings. I see you have restocked your book, so I will be placing my order in due course. Take care and all the best. Cheers, Ray.

I remember the day I discovered a name for my photography practice: contemplative photography. Simply put: I could sit in a corner for an hour and find ways to photograph that one small space. It's probably why landscape photography holds no appeal. Too vast. It's the details that intrigue me.

I completely understand Carol, conventional photography holds no real meaning for me anymore unless I sit and watch, connect and breath I find it hard to make images that feel like me

I look forward to following your work.
